"Over the course of a month through various email exchanges that singled out a doable concept, Curry, Schmid and Cooper exchanged messages, notes and links that highlight points of departure, process, issues of ownership, inspiration, and acts of creation that reinforce freedom within the act of collaborating. What came out of this interaction is a project called ‘The Reef’ which became a framework for each of the artists to enact a type of participation that was personal, reflexive, playful (at times meaningful, at times without meaning), ambivalent and imaginative."
